READ

Daniel 10

Explore

  1. What stands out to you in the passage?

  2. Why do you think v.5–10 devote so much detail to the heavenly being and the impact on people?

  3. What caused the delay in answering Daniel’s prayer? (v.10-14)

  4. What does the angel do for Daniel multiple times throughout the chapter?

APPLY

  1. Daniel is trembling and breathless in the presence of God’s messenger. Has familiarity dulled your awe of God? How can we renew a healthy reverence?

  2. Does this chapter alter your view of prayer and spiritual warfare? If you remembered your prayers shook things in the unseen realm—which affects the seen realm—would you pray differently?

  3. Notice how God meets Daniel in his discouragement (v.10-12, 16, 18-19). There are many ways we close ourselves off to God meeting us in this way. How can you open yourself to God giving you peace, strength, courage, and assurance that you’re greatly loved? (v.19)

  4. Daniel is profoundly discouraged, yet continues to pray for his people and live faithfully. How does this comfort you (even Daniel gets discouraged) and spur you forward (seeing how he lives amid discouragement)?
