1 Samuel 16:1-13—The Lord Looks On The Heart

As we gather from scattered places, we continue our series with 1 Samuel 16:1-13, which shows the anointing of David while he’s still a young shepherd boy. This chapter marks a turn in the narrative as, moving forward, we’ll witness the rise of David alongside the fall of King Saul. This text in particular asks questions of “What is true beauty?” and exhorts us to pursue that which matters most in life.
