2 Samuel 6:1-15—The Danger and Delight of God

In 2 Samuel 6 there’s a party as the ark of the covenant is brought into Jerusalem. However, the party is stopped when a man is struck dead for touching the ark. Why did God do this? Is He hot-tempered and vindictive? Counterintuitive as it may seem, God is giving us a window into His perfection and goodness, and showing us that the more we know Him fully the more we’re brought into greater delight.
