Matthew 28:1-20

EXPLORE

  1. What stands out to you in the text?

  2. What do you think the purpose of the angel coming in the form they did to announce Jesus’ resurrection was?

  3. Verse 9 says that those gathered around Jesus, “took hold of His feet and worshiped Him.” What does this say about Jesus’ resurrected body?

  4. What does Jesus mean when He says, “I am with you always, to the end of the age?” see John 15:26-27

APPLY

  1. The news of Jesus’ resurrection caused some to create a false narrative to preserve their own ideas and influence, others to wrestle with their doubt, and many to trust and believe that this truly was the risen Jesus. To this day, the resurrection of Jesus promotes a variety of different responses. Why do you think that is? And how can followers of Jesus grow in following the great commission, sharing both the historical and spiritual reality of Jesus’ resurrection?

  2. On a personal level, what does the resurrection of Jesus mean for your life? How does it affect your day-to-day life and how you view life overall? see Romans 8:9-11
